Join the Eagle Fund to help the Georgia Southern Athletic Program and enhance the lives of young student athletes. We ask you to read this message, take it to heart, and help to grow this program and help to put football back on solid ground. We have created a Sigma Nu Eagle Fund program page and we are working to create a Sigma Nu Eagle Alumni Club to demonstrate the influence of Sigma Nu and Greeks on the University. We ask you to consider joining the Eagle Fund – it needs you now more than ever. A recent statistic seen is that there are roughly 2500 members of the Eagle Fund, which raises about half of what Appalachian State does - it has grown significantly in the last few years. Georgia Southern graduates more than 4000-5000 students a year, so this 2500 is shameful. It takes $120 to join the Eagle Fund – half that much if you are a young alumnus – and more than that to get into Bronze Eagle Level ($1,200), which allows access to Club Level seating for the Beer Garden and other venues. The Athletic Department this year allowed us to buy excess tickets in the Beer Garden for our alumni basically due to the generosity of a number of our alumni donors, which they did not have to do. We continue to extend that this season, so if you are coming down to pack the stadium in the last few games, we will get you in the “Beer Garden” with Club Level (bucket) seats and free beer – trust me it is a different game experience. The Eagles need your support now more than ever and in the future.
Consider joining the Eagle Fund (even if you buy your tickets with another alumnus) as many of you already are, but many are not. In our own case, Brent Myers and myself for years bought tickets through another alumnus (Tony), but changed 2 years ago. I encourage you to do the same – join the Eagle Fund at some level even if you continue to get your tickets through another source. Also let us know you are a member of the Eagle Fund, so we can measure the impact of Sigma Nu - many of you are and have been loyal supporters. Send us a note here, on Facebook, or via email. Below please tell us your participation in foundations or funds of Georgia Southern. Our goal is to consolidate that information and to use as talking points to Georgia Southern, the Athletic Department, and the Office of Greek Life. We will consolidate a list on the website, but our plan is only to list membership in funds not the various levels.
