• Vision of our Future

  • The Theta Kappa House is in its' 22nd year in service to our Chapter. At the recent Alumni Chapter meeting a plan to fund a renovation and possible expansion was surfaced with a number of alumni stepped forward interested in helping. Alumnus and Past Commander Jon Lott (ThK 92), who is a long time banking executive is South Georgia, discussed some options that might attract investors from Theta Kappa. Jon was the Chapter Commander from 1974-75.

After the weekend, Alumnus Brent Myers (ThK 295), a principal with an architectural and construction firm, visited the house with the president of the company, to review and make recommendations on the possible project. Also present was Tony Fair (ThK 9), David Bobo (our original builder), and Scott Mobley (ThK 705). Their firm is going to complete some preliminary sketches and estimates on the project.

The first phase is anticipated to renovate the upstairs of the house, add small private bathrooms for each room, redo the interior of the upstairs with more durable materials, and remodel the "gang bathroom" also know as the "Roy Room". The potential expansion would be to provide a larger activity area. This past fall both the Kappa Sigma and Pi Kappa Phi houses added backyard "party buildings" to their facilities.
