2026 is a Great Year
2026 is a Great Year! 2026 holds special meaning to Theta Kappa as it is the 40th anniversary of the 1986 Alumni Initiation of 14 founding & early members that included a founder & 1st Commander, Robert Williams (0258). It is also the 40th Anniversary of our Fall 1986 Pledge Class, which was our first pledge class of 30 or more. And it is the 40th Anniversary of Homecoming 1986, which set a new standard for Homecoming celebrations, and culminated with a focus on building a house.
At Homecoming 1986 we had our 1st fundraiser for the house, followed by 2 additional fundraisers, and in May 1988 we started construction on the house. We moved in February 1989 and dedicated our House on November 11, 1989. Georgia Southern won its 1st 1-AA National Championship in December 1985, the 2nd in December 1986, and we opened with the University of Florida in 1986. All in all, 1986 was a very good year for Theta Kappa and we will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.
